Winter Sovereign

Alchemizing Grief, Rage and Gratitude

January 25th, 2025 | 9am - 6pm | Gateway Ranch, Flagstaff, AZ

Registration Closed

This is your Day Treat into the Heart.

This is for you, who feels.

Who carries the weight of grief, rage, and disconnection related to the historic and present oppression of women’s bodies and the feminine principle.

Who feels a deep sense of anger or sorrow for the oppression of the wild world, women, and other systemic injustices

Who is frustrated with stuck and unprocessed emotions.

Who yearns to connect more deeply with your body, your emotions, and your feminine essence.

Who feels disconnected from joy or pleasure, as if something is blocking your ability to fully embrace life.

Who is called to alchemize pain into purpose and transform old wounds into strength, joy, connection and gratitude.

Who desires a sacred and supportive space to explore, honor and move your emotions without judgment.

Who longs to connect with other women who share a similar journey and create a community of healing and empowerment.

Who feels the pull to clear emotional blocks, rediscover your capacity for joy, and reconnect with the full spectrum of your emotions.

One Day. Three Powerful Gateways to the Heart.

  • In Rage Ritual, we call upon the inner warrior and the element of fire to move through the big feelings that come up when our boundaries have been crossed, when the things we cherish are threatened, and when we are confronted with injustice. When we, as women, have been conditioned to suppress this powerful emotion, we lose touch with a sacred gateway to that which we care most about in this lifetime. In this ritual, we invite you to reclaim rage as a superpower in passion and protection. In moving through our anger, we are able to touch the depths of what we stand for.

  • In Grief Ritual, we call upon the elements of Earth & Water to move through the sorrow carried in the womb of generations. In this ritual, we honor the uncried tears, from our own lives and those whispered through the bones of our grandmothers. Here, we confront loss, the echo of silenced voices, and the grief of the earth herself. Here, we cleanse the individual and collective wounds that yearn to become our greatest power.

  • The degree to which we turn toward our anger and pain is the degree to which our joy can soar. Beneath our greatest sorrows lies our greatest love: when we pass through the forbidden gates of rage and grief, we are able to see and feel with clarity the love which fuels grief over what we have lost and rage over what we long to protect. In the third gate, we welcome the depths of our gratitude, joy and love. We celebrate the opening of our hearts. We embrace the pleasure of being alive. We express gratitude for the dynamic spectrum of the human experience.

In this gate, we alchemize grief into gratitude and joy. Here, we journey through embodied self love, self care, nervous system regulation, sound bath and cacao ceremony to return to a deeply felt sense of belonging and joy.

ALCHEMY

What We Mean When We Say

Community Connection

Together, we will build a strong container of support and connection between like-minded women on similar paths. There will be ample opportunities for sharing, co-regulating, and verbal processing.

Lessons & Transmissions

Each step of the way, your facilitators will be offering potent lessons to guide and inform your journey. You will be supported by the collective wisdom of 20+ years of experience and training transmitted through your guides.

Journaling Practices

As we move through each topic, you will have the opportunity to deepen our self-inquiry through journaling activities. This provides another modality for processing and alchemizing what arises for you in your journey.

Shadow Work

The shadow is an important part of our psyches to work with when moving through parts of ourselves that have been suppressed. As we intentionally move through the “forbidden” emotions of rage and grief, we are bound to encounter shadow projections along the way. This experience is designed to give you the tools you need to meaningfully encounter shadow rather than be controlled by it

Ritual & Ceremony

This day-treat flows through a series of ceremonial experiences, culminating in a celebratory cacao ceremony where we will collectively touch our deepened capacity to experience joy, love, and gratitude when we dig down into the dark places of the inner feminine. Ritual is a thread that connects every part of this experience.

Embodiment, Sound & Somatics

The bulk of this retreat will be dedicated to alchemy through the modaltiy of embodiment. For each Gate, we will engage in an embodiment practice that weaves movement, sound, and somatics. Supported by guidance from your facilitators, curated music, and herbal allies, these experiences are designed to be incredibly deep and transformational.

Sound Bath

This day-treat is supported by a curated soundscape journey, which includes not only epic playlists but also live music performances and a healing sound bath experience.

Herbal Allies

Each Gate will be supported by a collection of herbs (in the form of tea, tincture, infused oil, flower essence and incense). The use of medicinal herbs, ranging from rose oil to ceremonial cacao, have the ability to take participants deeper into their alchemical journey of transformation. Every step of the journey will be accompanied by an herbal medicine to provide nourishment, healing balms of recovery, cleansing, and beyond.

Integration

While peak experiences are meaningful, we are advocates of authentic integration. Your guides are dedicated to ensuring that you leave this retreat with a clear path forward toward creating lasting change in your life. You will walk away from this experience with integration practices, invitations, and actionable steps to continue your journey.

Meet Your Guides

Winter Sovereign: Alchemizing Rage, Grief and Gratitude is a collaborative women’s day-long retreat facilitated by Natalie Hewitt, founder of Wild Nature, and Jacqueline Thompson, founder of Wild Wayfarer.

  • Natalie Hewitt is a movement alchemist, sound healer, and somatic educator dedicated to empowering individuals to reclaim their sovereignty and reconnect to their wild, authentic nature. Her journey began with a deep yearning to break free from societal molds and rediscover the vibrant, expressive self she once knew. This journey led her to yoga in 2011, which became the catalyst for her transformation and lifelong exploration of embodiment, sound, and self-expression.

With a lifetime love of dance, an affinity for the human psyche, and over a decade of experience as a 500-hour certified yoga instructor, performance artist, and sound practitioner, Natalie weaves together practices like dance, somatic exploration, shadow work, and sound journeys to create unique, transformative experiences. Through her business, Wild Nature, she guides others in rewilding their lives, stepping into radical self-acceptance, and embodying their fullest truth.

  • Jacqueline is a nature reconnection guide, ritual facilitator, tantra and sexuality educator, and creative songwriter. Her specialty is in crafting meaningful journeys and experiences that help her community attune to nature’s rhythms, live with soul and purpose, and come home to their sensual bodies and creative potential.

All of Jacqueline's programs are crafted from the perspective that we are not separate from nature, and that our deepest healing can be found in our embodied belonging to Earth.

Drawing from her background as a wilderness guide, outdoor educator, horticultural therapy guide, yoga instructor, herbalist, songwriter, and performer, Jacqueline weaves wildness, the energy of the feminine, the erotic, and creative expression into the journeys that she crafts for others, including her signature moon ritual program, Women of the Moon, online courses, workshops, events, personalized ritual, and retreats.
